Position Overview

Callfinity is looking for a brilliant and creative senior software engineer to fill an important position on our Pittsford, NY development team. You must have solid programming knowledge, excellent problem solving skills, and must be capable of working under your own initiative in a collaborative environment with direction as needed.

This is a fulltime exempt position reporting to the VP of Engineering.

Job Functions

Develop software, often in collaboration with others.
Participate in team problem solving sessions, including assisting Customer Service diagnosing problems.
Mentor and coach team members; participate in and lead code reviews
Review test plans and support software quality assurance.
Assist in design, architecture and strategy for Callfinity products and system.

Work Experience

We’re looking for

Seven to ten years experience in developing distributed Linux based systems and applications.

Better yet

Experience with Erlang.

Skills and Abilities

Must have most of these

Linux command-line and shell programming expertise
C/C++ in a *nix environment
SQL (any variety)
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Distributed systems development experience

Great talent would also have

Erlang
PHP with framework – cakePHP is best
Javascript
Telephony VoIP application development experience
Python and/or Perl
MySQL
Subversion

Education

Required learning
Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Extra credit
Additional study past Bachelors Degree.
