Position Overview

Callfinity is looking for a brilliant and creative senior software engineer to fill an important position on our Rochester, NY development team. You must have solid programming knowledge, excellent problem solving skills, and must be capable of working under your own initiative in a collaborative environment with direction as needed.

This is a fulltime exempt position reporting to the VP of Engineering.

Job Functions

Develop software, often in collaboration with others.
Participate in team problem solving sessions, including assisting Customer Service diagnosing problems.
Participate in and lead code reviews.
Review test plans and support software quality assurance.
Assist in design, architecture and strategy for Callfinity products and system.
Mentor and coach less experienced team members.

Work Experience

We’re looking for talent at all levels of experience, from 1 year (Co-op counts as 1 year) to very senior levels.

Skills and Abilities

Must have

One or more of these languages: C/C++, Java, Python, C#, Erlang, PHP
Linux command-line and shell programming expertise
SQL (any variety)
Ability to learn new technologies quickly
Distributed systems development experience

Great talent would also have

Telephony VoIP application development experience
Experience developing high availability software
Familiarity with SIP and RTP protocols
MySQL
Subversion

Education

Required learning
Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Extra credit
Additional study past Bachelors Degree.
